Both of you were close, once. Now, you face each other as bitter adversaries. So, you fight, protected by the cages you’ve built to guard your health and hearts.

HEARTCAGE is a duet TTRPG about messy relationships, and the character flaws that lead to their ends. You fight, destroying each other's physical defenses before attacking the emotional ones that lead to you parting ways. Did you hide your true thoughts and feelings? What defense mechanisms pushed your ex away? Were you short tempered, dismissive, or negligent?

As you fight, you will have to destroy your opponent's physical armor before attacking their emotional cages. This will be a confrontation that weaves physical blows between barbed words.

BREAK IN

HEARTCAGE is written to allow for you to explore a variety of character relationships. Is this about two former lovers, friends, collaborators, or bandmates? Is this going to be a tearful confrontation over a failed marriage, or a slapstick fight over who ate the last donut?

Whether this is a back alley brawl, a wizard duel, or a mecha battle is up to you, as well.
